The Challenge: A Surgical Diagnosis
An existing 30-year-old senior living facility required more than just a cosmetic upgrade; it needed a fundamental revival. Our process began with a “surgical diagnosis”, a comprehensive conditional analysis of the building and its systems. We meticulously mapped defects in waterproofing, plumbing, and electrical systems to understand the baseline of the structure’s performative health.
The Intervention: Technical Resilience meets Aesthetic Freshness
Our design and project management solution focused on extending the building’s lifespan by decades. We performed a complete overhaul of the essential infrastructure—replacing aging electrical and plumbing systems with high-efficiency modern fixtures.
To counter the typical clinical feel of assisted living, we curated a palette of wall finishes, ceiling treatments, and wall tiling designed to flood the space with freshness and natural light. Our goal was to strip away the “clinical” atmosphere, replacing it with a homely, calming, and serene sanctuary where design actively enables a higher quality of life.
Phase II: The Sensory Courtyard
The heart of the facility is its central courtyard, redesigned around the majestic presence of an existing Badam (Indian Almond) tree. Here, we applied the phenomenon of Sensory Multiplicity to engage all five senses:
By harmonising technical precision with sensory-rich environments, we have transitioned this space from a mere facility into a truly Assisted Holistic Living environment.
