Located on the 36 m wide Pani Ni Taki Road in Karelibaug, Vadodara, the project occupies a 190 ft. north-facing site with a near-equal depth. Its strong connectivity and central positioning within a well-established residential and commercial neighborhood make it highly accessible and relevant to the city’s urban fabric.
The site’s context presents an opportunity to create a vibrant public destination, one that encourages gathering, celebration, and everyday urban life. Its form enables a seamless interplay of open and semi-open spaces, creating pauses and fluid transitions across levels.
The architecture is conceived as flexible and evolving, built upon a system of varied plinths and adaptable layers. Responding to this approach, shipping containers are used as modular building blocks, allowing dynamic configurations of mass and void, both horizontally and volumetrically.
Stacked and arranged across multiple levels, these containers create a network of retail spaces, seating zones, public activity areas, open-air theatres, and terraces. A public plaza along the street edge anchors the development, drawing people inward and activating the site.
The project aspires to become a distinctive urban magnet, an engaging, adaptable environment that fosters interaction and supports a thriving retail ecosystem.
