Situated in the heart of Columbia’s historic Five Points district, this mixed-use development addresses the critical demand for high-quality student housing serving the University of South Carolina (USC). The project leverages its prime “stone’s throw” location to provide seamless walkable connectivity, treating the vibrant downtown with its eclectic mix of restaurants and local commerce as the building’s primary amenity.
The architectural response prioritizes the public realm. At street level, a programmed 10-foot wide pedestrian arcade extends the city’s walkable fabric, utilizing outdoor seating and open-air cafes to activate the Five Points corridor. Above this commercial anchor, the second through fifth floors offer a diverse residential mix of one, two, and three-bedroom units, each integrated with private outdoor patios or balconies to provide a sense of place within the urban core.
